The 24th annual Hot Harley Nights kicks off later this week, giving Sioux Falls an opportunity to have three days of fun while raising money for Make-A-Wish South Dakota.

Since it began in 1996, the event — put on by J&L Harley-Davidson and Make-A-Wish South Dakota — has raised over $3 million to help grant the wishes of South Dakota children with critical illnesses.

The event, taking place July 11-13, has quite a few opportunities for kids, families, motorcycle enthusiasts and everyone else. Here"s a few examples of how you can enjoy the festivities.

Hot Harley Nights is bringing this motorcycle stunt show back for the second year in a row, with performances all three days of the event at J&L Harley-Davidson.

The show brings together exciting motorcycle stunts and vintage motorcycles. Show times are as follows:

Thursday, July 11 at 1 p.m., 3 p.m., 5 p.m. and 7 p.m.Friday, July 12 at Noon, 2 p.m., 4 p.m., 6 p.m. and 8 p.m.Saturday, July 13: Noon, 2 p.m. and 4 p.m.

Motorcycles, motorcycles and more motorcycles

Whether you ride them or just think they"re cool, the event has plenty of motorcycle activities. Judging on the ride-in bike show begins at 6 p.m. Friday, and the winner will be announced at 9 p.m.

The Sioux Falls H.O.G. chapter will be leading scenic rides starting at 9:45 a.m. on Saturday, and The Old Courthouse Museum will be hosting a vintage motorcycle exhibit all weekend, with an opening reception at 5 p.m. on Thursday.

Watch the parade

The motorcycle parade — led by Make-A-Wish kids — will leave J&L Harley-Davidson at 5:30 p.m. on Saturday, heading down North Westport Avenue and across Russel Street on their way to the W.H. Lyon Fairgrounds.

Catch some live music

AC/DC tribute band Rock-N-Roll Damnation will be playing at 5:30 p.m. on Friday at J&L Harley-Davidson, where the Neo Johnsons will also play at 12:30 p.m. on Saturday. At the fairgrounds on Saturday, Whiskey Rich will take the stage at 6:35 p.m., followed by The Ron Keel Band and Night Ranger.
