The first public preview of J.K. Rowling’s Harry Potter and the Cursed Child took place in London yesterday and as most fans weren’t lucky enough to be in the audience, they’ll likely be picking up the script in book form. Good thing Potter tradition will continue with midnight releases across the country.

I may not have started reading the Harry Potter book series until after the third film and even then I didn’t go to a midnight release until Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince, but I’m a die-hard fan. Remember the time I hung out on a sidewalk in New York City at 3 am for the special Harry Potter Cover to Cover Day hosted by Scholastic? And then there was that unveiling of the special editions of The Tales of Beedle the Bard at the New York Public Library. All these events were so much fun so I’m definitely going to be on line for the Harry Potter and the Cursed Child book.
Business Wire reports:
You can pre-order the book and find out more info on their website but here’s what you can expect at the events before the midnight release:
All stores nationwide will also host a Wrebbit 3D™ Harry Potter™ event, in celebration of Harry Potter’s arrival at Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry, during which Harry Potter fans of all ages are invited to participate in the assembly of Wrebbit 3D™ Hogwarts™ Astronomy Tower, an 875-piece 3D puzzle. In addition, Barnes & Noble will put on display a fully-built, first-to-market Wrebbit 3D™ Hogwarts Express™ 3D puzzle in all stores for customers to marvel in and enjoy.
And the midnight release party:
The party will feature a special Muggle Wall where customers can share their favorite memories of Harry Potter as well as several amazing giveaways. On Sunday, July 31, customers can return to their local store to discuss the new book and participate in special Harry Potter-themed events and activities, as a follow-up to the Countdown to Midnight Party the night before.
